To get a better understanding of blogging and to answer this question I typed the text blogging in Google and visited the number one result in the leading search engine. If you like to make things difficult you should follow the nr.1 result and read the article from Wikipedia. The Nr. 2 result that Google showed was much more attractive. Who is a Blogger and What is Blogging? Summarizing this a weblog is a type of website to share information on a specific topic. Sharing this information also means giving other people the ability to respond on your article and start an online discussion.
Again I asked my friend Google this question and typed the question into the search field. The first result that Google showed seemed to be a good story bud didn´t have the ability to respond. In my opinion this is not a real blog because it is not about sharing information. Again the number 2 was my favourite (And for much more people – as the blog showed over the 100 comments). 15 Reasons I Think You Should Blog 15 Reasons is a lot.
To start blogging I think there are two kinds of motives. First there are the personal motives. From the 15 reasons that were available I would pick nr.1 (become a better writer) and nr. 4 (You’ll develop an eye for meaningful things.) and nr.15 ( It’s quite a rush every positive comment you get). The other main motive is to show professionalism. In the M&A services industry this can be a main motive for blogging. It gives a professional the ability to show his knowledge. His article can be reviewed critically and the reader can directly respond or ask a question.

As far as I understand, the certain blog should contain actual information for readers and be appropriate due to their preferences. In this particular case the author writes about M&A blogs and their necessarily. I think it is good idea but, a blogger should be professional in performing such kind of operations and be a good writer too because as I read on idealsvdr.com blog mergers and acquisition have specific sides of performing and require technical knowledge in this space.
